My love of Celtic music began in the mid 80s. There was a show called the Thistle and Shamrock adn I suppose that show is still on the air on NPR. Where can I find Celtic music on CDs?

    Hi Achbar!

I grew up listening to my Dad playing Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem records. I was thrilled a few years ago to find many of them on CD produced by the Shanchie label. www.shanachie.com/

Look for Danu, Karen Casey, Solas, Planxty and you'll get some marvelous stuff.

What you might also want to do is look at www.emusic.com -- this is an MP3 download site. I've subscribed to it for three years and have enjoyed the music very much. The price is reasonable and there is no encryption. They don't do Top 40 but have lots of independent including Shanachie. Look for the above mentioned, and many more: Wolfe Tones, Moving Cloud, OysterBand, Colcannon, Clancy Brothers. Then follow the links to even more.

    Have fun!

    Blair
